The UK Branch Annual Members Dinner 2019 is being held at the Victory Services Club, Seymour Street on 27th September 2019
This year marks the 130th Anniversary of the founding of the BSAP and the UK committee are planning what the organisers are describing as an ‘extravaganza of an event’ with some amazing entertainment to mark the occasion. To match the 130th Anniversary they are trying to have at least 130 diners seated for the dinner.
The speaker at the dinner and proposer of the toast to ‘The Regiment’ will be David Pirrett younger brother of 6610 John (Jock) Pirrett who will also be attending.
David was born in Glasgow and on leaving school attended Dundee University obtaining a law degree. Whilst at University he was a champion shot for Scottish Universities and a useful rugby lock.
After University he practiced law with a number of Scottish Law firms becoming well known in the legal fraternity and towards the end of his career was appointed a District Judge.
He is a member of Rotary and has been Toastmaster at numerous Burns Suppers.
David has travelled extensively visiting Rhodesia and South Africa on a number of occasions and has spoken at the Transvaal Dinner. We can look forward to a very entertaining after dinner talk.
