On Sunday 8th December 2019, twelve members and six guests met at the Ferraris Country House, Hotel and Restaurant, Longridge, for lunch. This was our fourth and final Gathering for the year.
A warm welcome was made to Andrea Wilson, daughter of 4933 Rod Wilson, who recently passed away. Rod Wilson an Honorary Life Member of the UK Branch of the Regimental Association and was a past Regional Representative for the North West Branch. Prior to the commencement of our lunch a moments silence was observed in his memory.
The Moffatt Gathering in November was discussed and those present agreed, unanimously, that the North West Region should make this an annual event which should be added to our calendar of events for the year. Subsequently we will now have five Gatherings a year,
A Christmas raffle was held and together with the proceeds collected during the year a total sum of 355 pounds was raised. The meeting agreed that 175 pounds be donated towards the Memorial Maintenance Fund and the remaining 180 pounds towards the BSAP Association.
In my last report mention was made of the Thomas Baines colour prints donated by 8800 Jim Taylor which we wanted to raffle to raise funds for the Association. Unfortunately this has not been the case and I hope suitable mention will be made in the next issue of the Outpost.
